Our Key Staff
Charles A. Hubay, Jr., Ph.D., President and Principal
Dr. Hubay holds a Ph.D. in Demography and Urban
Sociology. His experience includes work with the U.S. Census Bureau and
The Rand Corporation on research database structures to support policy
studies. He served as instructor for a number of courses pertaining to
computer applications and statistical research applications. Dr.
Hubay designed the program of customer satisfaction studies for
American Honda Motor Company including studies of new vehicle owners,
warranty service customers, and customer relations contacts.
Kathleen Shields, Ph.D., Vice-President and Principal
Dr. Shields holds a Ph.D. in Sociology. She
worked on survey research the Social Science Research Institute of
the USC, Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center, and the Veterans
Administration. She taught Research Methods and Statistics at
Occidental College and USC. At DSRA, Dr. Shields is
responsible for project administration, research development, survey
design, and research implementation.
Lawrence Helbers, M.A., Consulting Economist and Analyst
Mr. Helbers holds an M.A. in Economics from
Washington University . He provides statistical and programming
services. He worked with Georgia Power, Southern California
Edison, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Southern California
Gas Company, and Ontario Hydro developing complex, multi-objective
sample designs. His recent assignments in the healthcare field
include providing research assistance to Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
Virginia Fitzpatrick, M.A., Statistical Analyst
Ms. Fitzpatrick holds a Master of Science in
Biostatistics from the University of Washington. She has 15 years
of experience as a Statistician and Programmer. Ms. Fitzpatrick's
statistical experience includes producing analytical reports for HMO
claims data and writing statistical methods sections for over 24
clinical trial protocols. She developed procedures for nonparametric
and binomial confidence intervals.
Beth Olsen, Ph.D., Consulting Analyst
Dr. Olsen holds a Ph.D. in Demography and
Sociology from the USC . Her experience includes work with the US
Census Bureau and USC's Social Science Research developing research
methodologies and geographically-based analysis. She was
Vice-President of Research for Demographic Research Company. For
Acxiom, Dr. Olsen developed database warehousing and research services
for the European market, and served as Group Director: Information
Services for the UK office. She has extensive experience in
the Middle East as Information Systems Advisor to government Ministries.
Scott Terry, Director of Operations
Mr. Terry has extensive experience in organizing
medium and large business units that specialize in the management of
technically complex projects. He is responsible for all project
deliverables scheduling and managing human resource issues.
He holds a B.A. degree from California State University at Fullerton .
Mr. Terry spent over twenty years developing his skills with companies
such as George Lucas' Lucasfilm and Todd A-O/Glen Glenn Studios.
Alex Currie, Senior Programmer/Analyst
Mr. Currie holds a B.A. from Occidental College
and has extensive data processing experience developing applications
for research purposes. He has five years of experience in SAS
programming utilizing Unix, VMS, and MVS platforms. At DSRA, Mr.
Currie is responsible for the creation of automated data processing
procedures and the design of customized survey data reports.
Jocelyn Pantano , Research Project Administrator
Ms. Pantano manages and coordinates client
services for DSRA survey research projects. She provides administrative
support for data collection and reporting. Ms. Pantano has
comprehensive experience with the organization of health and medical
related research studies. Her duties include design of survey
instruments and supervision of project documentation activities.
Jim Angerman, Survey Operations Manager
Mr. Angerman manages DSRA's survey processing
facilities. He is responsible for the efficient processing of all
outbound and incoming survey mailings, address imprinting, mail and
response accounting, open-end item coding, and distribution of
monthly reports.
Pat Fletchetero, Web Technology Programmer
Mr. Fletchetero provides the web designs for
Decision Sciences' various on-line surveys, research projects and
healthcare studies. Mr. Fletchetero has worked as a Designer for
How2TV.com, Office Pavilion and the Hawaii Medical Service Association.
John Kohler, Consulting Programmer/Analyst
Mr. Kohler holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science
from California State University . At Decision Sciences, Mr.
Kohler performs systems management tasks on the network of Sun
workstations. His other responsibilities include the design of survey
layouts using desktop publishing software and the creation of
statistical programs used in the analysis of survey data.
Richard Corbishley, M.A., Senior Software Architect
Mr. Corbishley holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from the Imperial
College of Science and Technology, London. He has over 15 years
of experience as an IT specialist with a thorough knowledge of diverse
software technologies. At DSRA, Mr. Corbishley implemented a web system
to deliver custom reporting strategies, designs Oracle
databases, and implemented a data warehouse that provides real-time
feedback via web interface. Mr. Corbishley has worked as a Software
Architect for IBM, Econnections, and Quintiles and as a Consultant to
Glaxo-Wellcome.
