Web-based Survey Portals
Decision
Sciences has developed a custom-built fully-functional toolset designed
to implement web-based surveys which mirror the content of mail or
phone interviews, without doubling the effort to move between field
methods. The DSRA system provides web-based surveys that are customized
dynamically using pre-defined skip patterns based on responses as they
are keyed. The survey responses are stored in permanent database
records and identified to a specific respondent as they are entered.
This strategy means that should the survey be interrupted for any
reason, the responses that have already been entered are retained, and
a respondent can re-enter the survey later and pick up exactly where
they left off.
Web-based
surveys are particularly well suited to situations in which there is
complex response/query pattern logic involved, of the “if –
then – else” variety. In such situations, the full-scope of
the questions being asked of recipients can be dynamically determined
based on the responses to a particular question or set of questions in
this web-based environment. This format is also appropriate when there
are pictures of products or advertising messages, or conjoint analysis
of preferences, which are to be displayed as part of the process. The
DSRA on-line surveys are linked to our on-line reporting system (RMS)
portals, so results are updated and available for viewing in real-time
to our clients.
In order to establish research survey sites on the
internet, Decision Sciences maintains a number of registered web
addresses (URLs) for use by survey respondents.
